Pizza for breakfast?  Why not!   These Individual Prosciutto Breakfast Pizzas are a fun way to incorporate fresh ingredients into something the kids love and won’t expect in the morning.  We make them with farm fresh eggs, ripe tomatoes and wholesome cheese.  Want to make them even easier?  Pre-bake the individual crusts and keep in the freezer for quick and easy mornings.

Individual Prosciutto Breakfast Pizzas

Individual Prosciutto Breakfast Pizzas

Makes: 8 individual pizzas

Cook Time: 10-12 minutes

Special Equipment: Pizza stone or baking sheet, pizza paddle or large spatula

Ingredients:

  • Out of the Box Food Pizza Dough
  • 8 teaspoons  Out of the Box Food’s Fresh & Easy Pizza Sauce
  • 16 tablespoons shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 8 slices Prosciutto, sliced into horizontal strips
  • Flour for surface

Directions:

Night Before:

  • For morning ease, pre-make pizza dough the night before, wrap tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate until morning.

Morning of:

  • Preheat oven and pizza stone (or baking sheet) to 500 degrees.
  • While oven is preheating, take pizza dough out of refrigerator and let sit at room temperature for 15 minutes.
  • Whisk together eggs and sea salt.  Set aside.
  • On a floured surface, divide dough into 8 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball by tucking edges under.
  • Gently stretch dough ball into a circle, being careful not to tear the dough.  Roll dough into a 5″ circle. (if dough is not rolling out, let sit longer at room temperature)
  • Lay dough round onto a floured pizza paddle or large spatula.
  • Slice 1 piece of prosciutto into horizontal strips
  • Spread dough round with 1 teaspoon Sun Dried Tomato Pesto.  Top with 2 tablespoons shredded mozzarella then drizzle 2 tablespoons egg mixture over the cheese.  Top with sliced prosciutto.
  • Slide pizza onto hot pizza stone (or baking sheet) and bake 10 minutes or until browned and bubbling.
  • Repeat with remaining dough balls to create 8 pizzas.
