Los Angeles REAL FOOD Event for Kids

Los Angeles REAL FOOD Event for Kids

If you’re anything like me, May is filled with end of school-year activities and projects…summer beckoning from only a short distance away.  I am honored and excited to share my biggest project of the month (well, heck…of the year) and if you’re in the Los Angeles area I invite you to bring your family and join us!

On May 19th, Jamie Oliver is holding his first ever Global Food Revolution Day and Out of the Box Food is proud to be a part of it.   All around the world, people are standing up for Real Food by hosting events, dinner parties, cooking classes…you name it, and all in the name of Real Food Education.  Here in Los Angeles, OutoftheBoxFood.com has partnered up with JenniferMcColm.com to host: Food Revolution Kids Day at the Calabasas Farmers Market.  Each purchased ticket will provide an opportunity for kids to gather fresh fruit and veggies from local farmers, learn about Real Food and how it’s grown, and participate in many kid-centric activities.  It’s a day for Los Angeles families to experience Old Town Calabasas and for kids to learn to love Real Food.  Bring your family Saturday May 19th 8:00am – 1:00pm!

Don’t live in Los Angeles?  Throw your own Food Revolution Day event!  No matter how large or small, by getting friends together over Real Food on May 19th, you’ll be taking a stand and saying to the world that Real Food is important.  If you decide to participate, let us know in the comments below and we’ll proudly share your efforts with our Twitter and Facebook community.

  1. I would love to bring my family to this! Is it for kids of all ages?…like even 14 month olds? We would love to come experience it!

Hi Amelia – Yes! I know you feel the same way ~ kids are never too young to learn to love Real Food! Your 14 mo. old can still try the samples from the farmers, participate in story time with the Calabasas librarian (9am and noon), and enjoy the sites and sounds of the market! Though many of the activities will be for slightly older children, it’s going to be a festive day for the whole family and the price of admission goes to a fantastic cause! Please be sure to find me and say hi when you’re there! I will more than likely be at the Out of the Box Food/Whole Foods Market Recipe Creation Station.

Your event looks awesome! I am the ambassador for Boca Raton, FLorida events. I will use yours as something to model after for next year! Keep us posted on how the event goes.

Great event for kids! Mine can hardly wait and I’m excited to see which new and fresh foods they discover at the Farmers Market that day! Thanks for helping to bring this to the community. The day sounds so fun and will bring out a lot of new attendees as well as families that haven’t been to the market in awhile. We’ll continue to spread the word about this great event at the Calabasas Farmers Market on the 19th. We hope the turnout is super so more families and kids discover the healthy offerings at the Farmers Market and help support the work of the Food Foundation. Thanks for sharing!
